Letter from Mission President

Hey family it’s great to hear from you all. Been another week; time sure is going quick. It’s great though cuz I would not have it going slow. This week has been a good one nonetheless. And mom I will try to answer all your questions.

To start with the mission life here. Linda has been progressing super well. She had a really cool experience with prayer the other day. She was looking for her phone cuz she had lost it. She decided to pray for her phone, and then she thought it could be in the taxi she used. So, she went to the taxi company. Sure enough, she left in there and she got it back. But in the process she made a deal with God that if she got her phone back she would do three nice things for people. Her first one was she knew Elder Frye and I are big fans of Mountain Dew. So, she looked all over for it in Tralee and found two shops one that sells Mountain Dew and one that sells root beer. So we were so excited; one, for her using prayer that way, and now we know where to find dew and beer! Well I could get beer anywhere, but the root kind. We also had zone conference yesterday. That was super, I got to see my buds. Elders Procter, Reeder, and Milo. The other has moved on to other places. Too bad.

Well for my one year mark we usually have a big party with the other elders, and I burn my grossest white shirt. We will also get a kebab. It’s this Indian food with big strips of donner meat; it’s really good. Donner just in case you don’t know is lamb meat. I would like tooth paste whitening kind because my teeth are turning
yellow cuz I have not had them cleaned in a year now. I would also like sugar babies and Mike and Ikes. Other than that, you know me, I like everything you send. Maybe another photo album with pictures of home would be great. I know you are not big picture people, and neither am I, but I have sent more pictures then you have.

Well I will love you and leave you. I hope that’s all the questions.

Much loves

Brady

Well hello.

It’s so good to hear from you all. Right now the computer I’m on is really starting to piss me off. Ever two minutes it stops letting me write or read, it stinks, but oh well. So anyway, its sounds like you all have had a very eventful week which is really cool. I have had one as well; to start off we have been teaching loads and that’s always really good stuff. Another funny thing is they have removed the finding indicators for our mission. We no longer need qgc's as we call them, meaning potentials, which I find funny. Whatever, I just do as they tell me. But anyway, we have been teaching Linda still. She is still making progress. I can tell she believes what we tell her and really likes it, but she herself does not know that she believes it and that’s the part she struggles with. I really hope she will soon come around to understanding it more. What we struggle with is she won’t open the Book of Mormon. She uses the excuse she does not understand the writing style or old English, but last time I got it out of her she has never even opened up the book outside of when we read it together. See that’s the main problem with the Irish. They will claim religious but they are too lazy to endure to the end. All of the members we do have are all hard workers and are very successful people. It’s really hard to find just those right ones. But one day I will find mine, I know it. Almost every missionary leaves Ireland getting wet at least once.

Anyway enough of that. Like I said it was moves not too long ago, and it’s really cool to hear how almost all my friends around the mission have now become leaders in the mission. My good friend Furlong is now a district leader and almost all of them are now district leaders. Which means, soon they will become zone leaders and then we will have way sweet leaders in the mission. Since I have been on my mission most of the leaders have been not so cool so I’m really excited about that.

Well I’m going to need to go soon love you all take care

Well Jerame, mom tells me I have a brother in New Jersey, and that its his birthday on the 14th. So, Happy Birthday Jer. Mom says you are very busy preparing for the boards exam good luck with that. I know you will do well. You have always been the brains of the family.

The work is still going strong here in Tralee, and I'm staying happy like usually and without a care in the world, like always. You know me. So, Elder Frye and I are way good buddies and have a good time. We teach loads of people which makes me super happy. I'm sending you a card and another candy bar for your birthday. It will be late cuz I'm a procrastinator, as you know, but you will get it.

Anyways, take care bud and love you tons.

Hello family,

It’s great to know you got the package. I have been wondering when or if you got it. I sent it awhile ago and not heard anything about it. So I’m happy you liked it all. I have some new pictures that you will like of here in Tralee and some last bit of Ballyfermot that I did not have room to send. But I think that’s going to be another 8 months before I send, that’s about how long it took last time so I hope you know patience mom. You should have learned it already raising me. Ha-ha.

Well life has continued to go very well and time has moved fast again and it’s already moves call. I did not move and neither did Elder Frye which has made both of us really happy, as well as the people we are teaching. By the way Elder Headington has now become the AP to the president. Linda was not happy when she heard that we might be moving. But we called and told her we were not moving that night. She made us promise so she is happy about that. She has continued to really improve and is starting to get a real understanding about the reasons we do the things the way we do. She still struggles keeping most of the commandments but she is coming around to them. Another really good thing that’s going on with us is we got in touch with an old investigator named Boss. He is from Africa and has said we can teach him again so that is some very exciting news, so we are planning to teach him again. Hopefully at least twice a week.

Alright now mom the Christmas picture was a serious picture that was me modeling my new Christmas sweater for you. I love it-I’m wearing it right now. I wear it all the time. Its way good looking, Elder Williams wants to steal it from me. He saw me wearing it at zone family home evening and told me he coveted it. So thank you so very much for it. I still don’t like to wear hats. I got that one from a charity shop and wear it once in awhile for giggles. Hats don’t look good on me and never really have. I’m just not a hat person. Yes those pictures are supposed to look like the Joseph Smith picture. That was what we were going for. We saw that light through a break in the trees and said that looks like the first vision in the restoration video. So we all posed for it. The ones you see are me and Elder Williams in it. The ruins pictures with the group was in a graveyard and the one with Headington and I are of an Abbey in the north. If there are anymore than those I will just tell you when I go home cuz I can’t remember the others. I walked through old ruins of building so often I can’t remember them all. Here in Tralee there are loads of old ruined castles and things.

Happy Anniversary I hope you got my card. I sent it early hoping you would get it but it could be late so be expecting a card. It makes me happy to have a calendar with all that stuff it helps me not feel so left out of everything. I want another one in December. Just so you know. Even though I will not use it all year long in 2010 I still want it, it is way helpful and nice.

I love you all dearly got to write Jer.

Hello family it’s so good to hear from you all and how positive things have been going for you all. It’s been a great one this past week. So we had interviews this Friday and it was a good one he said everything has been good with me he has been happy with the work the only complaint he had with me was that my side burns where not mid ear so now I have got that fixed. But it was a good one. Then we had some training in district meeting by Elder Frye and Elder Maxwell which were both very good. And then because of the way things went I then had district meeting on Tuesday or yesterday. This time it was here in Tralee, because Elder Newman and Maxwell are on exchanges. So, I’m right now sitting next to them both. Elder Maxwell is from London and is way fun. We have become best buddies here on the mission. He is one of my favorite people on the mission. We instantly started to get along so it’s way fun. Even though we have completely different pasts and back grounds we really get along. We were on exchanges together yesterday and we had loads of fun just finding and talking. Then I took him up to see Linda last night and that was a really good lesson. She is really starting to come along with everything. She has thought seriously about joining the church. You can tell she is thinking of giving up smoking and drinking. Elder Maxwell was really able to help her because he could relate to her so well. But it has been so great here in Tralee. I love this area and the people so much. The people that I’m working with are all awesome.

We do get to see general conference. It’s one of my favorite times in the mission cuz you get together, and you get to listen to the talks and they mean a lot more here in the mission then they usually do. You just sit and take loads of notes on all the stuff you like. The thing I have to be careful with is that sometimes I end up writing too much and then I’m playing catch up the whole time.

I would love to write Blake back and forth on the mission, but as fair warning, I’m really bad with letters as most of you all know. You as well mom. I had to write and apologize to Emily because I had not written to her in over 4 months. Bad on my part. But I would love to try at least. I find it a bit easier to write missionaries on the mission cuz we are all doing the same thing. Its easy cuz I don’t have to change all the lingo...they know it already.

Cody sounds like he had a really fun activities for young-mens. I wish we would have done something like that. So what did he have to teach, and was he the senior companion or were they co senior like Byrne’s and I? That really sounds like a lot of fun. When I get home I would love to go home and work with the young-men in the ward. Here in Ireland almost all the RM's get called as young-mens president. I think that would be fun but in Utah they will probably try to force me to the singles ward to marry me off - who knows?

Well mom its official, you are more trunky for me to be home then me. You love to tell me all my month marks and phone calls it’s really funny. I love you to death. I always tell everyone I’m the biggest mama's boy and always share my scripture with everyone. Alma 56:47. It’s already April which means I’m very close to my year mark, and that means I get a good package for it...every one does in the mission.

well I love you all so very much it’s good to talk to you all take care.

Well hello Jer

How's it been? Its been a while since we talked. We both seem to get worse at this as we go on, but its great to hear you're doing so well. Mom has got on my calender your graduation and everything. I'm sure you are looking forward to that big time.

Tell me how life is and if there are anymore movies worth watching. I will have you know, you're basically my only connection to the real world because nobody here is American and cares about the good stuff like you and me. Honestly, right now I feel like I'm in the Matrix, and that I'm waiting for somebody to come meet me with a bunny tattoo. Who will then lead me to a person who will wake me up to the real world, and tell me I have lived a dream for the past year. However, it has not happened yet, so, I have to keep waiting.

The mission is really good. I'm very happy right now. My comp and I are good buddies. The work is going well and still improving, so, it makes it better. Well I'll let you go so I can try to email Dusty again since I have not done that in forever.
