Hey Hey family

Well how is everyone? Well I will be honest I don't have too much to say really. But I am moving!! And it’s a cool moves call. I'm going to Northern Ireland again and I'm going to Derry or Londonderry the name is different depending if I'm on the Catholic or Protestant side of the city. My companion is a really cool guy named Elder Groneman. He came out with Johnson and that big group. But to top off all this coolness I get a car!! Yup I’m going to be driving my last moves now I can finally try to gain some weight. Also apparently the house we live in is pretty nice but the shower is crap. I guess the water pressure is bad you have to kneel and take a shower its nick name is the humility shower. I will give you the information in my next email where Grone is from and his first name cuz I don’t know. Elder Dabling also got called as a new zone leader here in the Dublin zone and my boy Johnson is the district leader again.

Well I really can’t think of anything to say cuz I told you it all on the phone call and Christmas time is so hard for missionary work here in Ireland. I have had loads of dinner appointments and take home all the left over’s and warm them up for our dinners. I have been surviving really well on no money cuz our fridge is so packed with left over’s also I think we are getting paid tomorrow or in two days but really soon. Tonight I’m going to be seeing Des, Andréa and Cicilia. Between those two appointments I will be going to a dinner appointment at the Dunnes home. Sister Dunne is a good cook, I love her food. I will be sad when I move cuz I won’t have her food anymore. I guess Derry is good for feeding the elders you have at least two a week too. But I hear one members food is really gross; pray that I can stomach his food.

It’s good to hear about the family and that you got my package; sorry it’s so trashed. The Irish mail is really crappy they have so many days off and are so lazy it does not surprise me that it was so beat up. Really it just fits with the rest of the country. For instant our flat has a leaky roof and it won’t get fixed because everyone is off work till January 4 so as it rains our pots are filling with water great huh?

Well I love you all very much and I hope to have a much better email next week; sorry this is short I just don’t have anything to say.

Much love hugs and kisses

Brady

Hey Hey family!

Wow time is quick. I sure hope time does not slow down just before I get home I like that it is fast. Well it has been a full six weeks since I got with Dabling and we still have a little more time together then I will be moving. So here is the news mom I will be skypeing around 5:30 PM my time about 10:30 AM Utah time. So what you need to do is log on to it around 10:00 AM and just leave it on I will add you as a friend by your email address and then you will appear and then we can start talking. If there is a complication I will let you know by phone if I need to but that's the plan.

I have received your package thanks very much. I look forward to opening it all up and seeing what it is. I opened up one though the shirt because I had a party and I needed to use the wrapping paper. So I unwrapped it very carefully then wrapped up a present I was giving away cool huh? I’m such a tight wad. But I can’t believe you sent me a trunky gift you’re so funny. But thank you very much for it I look forward to using it.

So we have had a couple of really cool things happen this week. First we had a charity shop party that we went to. It was held in a pub on Friday night in Dublin city. Cool huh? Well we got permission to go to this and it was loads of fun a few of the people where drinking but on average they all just had water which I thought was funny. We drank water and just enjoyed our food. They asked us loads of questions and we just talked with them about what we were here for because some of these people work their but not on the days we do. They were all very positive about us and thought about how amazing it is what we do. They asked if there was anything big that we miss and I just said: "well my brother got married and I have never met his wife" that really got them talking. Afterwards they did not want us to leave cuz it was 9:30 and we needed to be in. Our manager was saying can’t we get you to be naughty one night; I said no cuz Santa would not bring us presents. Each time they said something I had some funny witty remark that made them laugh it was lots of fun. And I felt very important cuz we pretty much lead the conversation it was cool.

Then on Saturday we had a ward party it was great; one member who is Brazilian we have been working with to get us to teach her friends brought a family, a couple, and a single woman to the party. All of them where so impressed with us and the church; all of them were very happy to have us teach them more. The Indian family seem the most promising to me at the moment but I have not talked with the others too much. On Saturday we are teaching the Indian family (with Solange the Brazilian member); on Sunday her friend who is also Brazilian; and yesterday we were supposed to teach the couple but the man got a really bad ear infection he is hard of hearing and has hearing aids which I guess caused the problem. All of them seem promising.

Yesterday I was on exchanges with Elder Johnson we had a great day we ended up doing loads of tracing, it was fun, I usually don't like tracting but we had fun with it. He is such a goof ball that you can’t help but laugh with him or at him. A funny story from it. We knocked on this elderly mans house named Jay-Jay he is really nice we did the door approach and now we’re just talking and Jay-Jay just lets this big old fart out and Johnson lost it, just could not help but laugh and Jay-Jay just had this big old proud grin on his face. I just talked with him as if nothing happened and then left cuz he didn't let us in, but Johnson was just so funny about it. Oh man I love having him in the district again he is an amazing missionary.

Well next week our pday got changed to the 24th and I will not be emailing because I will be talking to you the very next day. Also no places for us to email will be open. I’m very sad about not being able to email and I know you are too but we will see each other on Christmas day and talk then. I will also let you know when my next pday will be then cuz I don't know yet. I can’t wait for it, have some good questions and stuff to talk about I will think about it too. I miss you and love you all.

Much love hugs and kisses Brady Ps tell Andie to lose some weight and not too get fat.

Hey Jer, thanks for the email. It was good to hear from you.

That’s funny, so your friend was moving your car just to mess with you? Or was he taking it out for a spin? You never really explained that part, but that really is funny that you saran wrapped his car. Also 10pm, that’s really not that late. So all the hygienists that work for you, are they good fun and games too? Like, were they in on the saran wrap stuff?

That sure is fun that Ames is traveling. She has been everywhere. Now do you think she is sick of it yet? Or does she still like all the new places? A lot of Irish people travel to Chicago. I guess it also has a large Irish-American population, so they love to go there. It seems like a cool place to go.

For me the work has been just the same, nothing too big or cool yet. We had a cool lesson with André and Cecilia, and that is basically really it. We committed them to start going to FHE on Mondays with the Shannon family (who I have gotten really close with).

So Jer, do you go out with the elder in Texas to teaching appointments? I hear you get close with them, but I have never heard about you going with them to teach. Out here in Ireland, our mission president really has pushed us to take members out with us. If so, what would you suggest we do to get them more involved in the lessons?

Well bro, I need to email mom. Love ya

Talk to you next week,
Brady

Hey

Mom thanks for answering all my questions that will make things much easier for Christmas. I hope I can take care of that this week and ship it off, I’m afraid it might not get to you on time this year. Also so you know I’m spending more money this year cuz I plan on buying good stuff for you all and send it then when I come home I can just have small things for you all. I know I have spent a good amount already and am being careful.

Well this week really has not been too exciting to be honest either; the work seems to have hit a plateau a bit and slowed but stays steady. Andréa and Cecilia are really good they committed to come to a FHE once a week with a member close by after work. We are afraid they are not getting enough experience so we came up with this idea. Its cool cuz the family they will be having FHE with has a son named Kevin Shannon who is less active living at home and he is learning German in school. Well if you can remember Andrea and Cecilia are German, they speak German so Kevin can talk to them and learn from them, and it gets him involved with the church. Plus it’s good for Andréa and Cecilia cuz it gets them more involved. It’s all really good. Its funny how things work like that, it shows the church is true.

We saw Des yesterday, he is really good. He is definitely seeking for truth and knows what to do, he is in a waiting period and it will come, but it’s going to take some patience. I have come to love Des so much he really has the biggest heart and I love it and he is doing really well. I found out that it was not his daughter who had all the medical problems it was him; he was the one in the hospital. But he is getting much better and just has to take a few pills several times a day. Just in case you forgot what was wrong, he had blood clots on his lungs and made him think he was having a heart attack. But once he got to the hospital they thought it was cancer which really got us scared but it’s all good.

So there have been some changes in the mission; starting in January my pdays are going to be on Mondays again. I’m not sure of the reason. But yeah that one and the other won’t really affect you at all. It’s things like more zone conferences and other good things I’m happy about.

Um I don’t know the times for the Skype but when I do I will let you know again I promise. I know I got you all excited about by bringing it up. Sorry I don’t know the nitty gritty stuff but I will let you know.

I love you mom thanks for the really good email I love you so much, time is flying!

Much love
Brady

Hey how is everything going?

Well mom this was a good email and I do enjoy your emails when they’re long; it’s my favorite part of pday, to read the email not to do the emailing. I only do it cuz then you would get after me if you did not hear from me. Ha-ha. Well I want to clear a few things up really quick. Mom for some reason you seem to think that as soon as I get home I plan to get married; if you must know I plan to be un- married for at least two years. And maybe I will start to date more seriously then. I also plan to go with Johnson my boy to Hawaii and pick pineapples and live as a surfer bum for awhile, and travel the island. So please mom don’t preach to me about waiting. I told Cody that I wanted to go on a few dates with him cuz it would be fun to go with him on dates now that he can. And he knows the girls. Each email you write you tell me about all the good girls he dates and I think I could go on a few dates with them. I love you mom

It’s good to hear about how well Texas went. I can’t wait to go and visit it myself it sound fun and warm which would be a change I could use. Ireland is freezing cold now. When I visit I will probably spend a lot of time at the gold's gym swimming since I will not be use to the heat. To me 22 C is pretty warm I don't know that in F. I miss Jer and Ames it will be fun to hang around with them.

Well this week has been good and really bad as well. The work has been great the weather terrible. In the south part of Ireland it’s all flooded. In Cork the elders don't have clean water to drink so they get it from a truck that delivers it to them all. The mission has been doing loads of service for it to help out. On Monday we went there and spent 11am - 5pm working and it was rough; I’m still sore all over especially my back and arms I just don't have the core strength I used to have. I have really gotten out of shape on my mission. But at the same time I can walk all day and not even think about it twice. It’s weird how my legs and arms have switched since being here. I just can’t wait to be able to swim again for exercise and fun. Even with all the service we have been able to find new people to teach and improve our lessons. Our whole district has been improving as we work, its good I’m sure our district is leading the rest of them. But at the same time it un-fair to compare it that way cuz we have a bigger district then the rest; and our ward is a functioning one too.

Yesterday was really cool we just got don’t teaching a less active family called the Wilsons and we thought we should stop by the family the Addos I have talked about before. And so we did, come to find out the whole family is sick with colds and flues and rashes and who knows what else. Well they are all girls and have no male members of the church in the home, so we gave all of them blessings. It was crazy; in the end we gave 4 blessing with the oil one right after another. I now have those prayers memorized. It was one of the highlights of this week for sure.

I did not keep in too much contact with Matt Call; he is home now, he gave his home coming talk I think last week or the week before. But he wrote me in Bangor and I wrote him back but he did not write me back until I was in Firhouse, after that I thought he is almost home and that it would be pointless to write back so I have not. But his Bird Ashlee waited for him and I suspect they will get married soonish.

Anyway I just can’t think of anything else to write I know this was not a super exciting email, but this week was not. But I’m enjoying the mission, staying wet to the skin, and I have new shoes that cost me 90 euro not too bad, and they are a good brand name too. Best deal I could find.

Much love hugs and kisses

Brady

Hey Mom and Daddy, brothers, sister, and Ozzy

How are you all today? This week has been a good fun one, and I have lots of good things to say, at least I hope.

Well, I will start off and talk about Christmas stuff. In all honesty, I would rather you hold on to the money. That way when I get home I can buy a laptop or an ipod touch. If I buy them when I get home the ipod will be less expensive. That’s what happened with the other ipods before. If you would like to send me something out, I could use some new socks. Every one of mine has a hole in them. I also love sweets…you may know that already. If you are gonna send me sweets make sure they’re not chocolate. Now I get to ask who do I buy for this year? Also, mom and dad, what would you like from Ireland? Mom you said shamrock earrings, and dad I don’t think you want those.

We have a dinner appointment for Thursday. All the Americans are getting together at the church and we are going to eat there. So, we are set for Thanksgiving. I’m really happy about that. It should be good and there are going to be so many little kids screaming everywhere. All the Americans in our ward are newly married and only one does not have kids yet. It’s going to be fun.

Dude, it treats Cody right for being mean and having to go to the cop’s station (Cody got answered to a school dance and she answered by having the cops interrogate him at the police station). I have gone the police station here, and it was scary but to make it worse I was getting questioned about a real murder rather then just vandalism. So, what was Cody’s poem or whatever? How did he tie in the bucket of water or was that just extra funny stuff? I wish I could have taken part of that one or any of Cody’s date asking stuff. He used to always help me out, and it would be fun to do the same for him. I miss Cody a lot, especial all of his senior year things. Will I be home for his prom? April 16th, again, is the day.

Today is my official 19th month mark for my mission. So my assistant told me some crazy junk; I guess Elder Gardner is so trunky and ready to go home. It’s way sad. I don’t even think about that too much. I try not to, but of coarse its always in the back of my mind. This past week I had two dreams of you all picking me up at the airport, even Julie was in my dream and meeting her for the first time. That will be fun.

Well now for some stories of the week:
Last night we had a great evening. We taught Des last night and he finally told us he feels the spirit when he goes to church, and that’s why he loves church so much. He loves the members of the church too. He says its like walking into our own world, and that he is apart of it. We told him that’s good and that he really is apart of that world. We all love to see him there. It was good cuz we also had a member along to say this rather then it being just us. So it meant a lot more to him. Des is one of my highlights of the mission, even though I most likely wont see him baptized. After that, we went to a members house (called the Changs) they are from Seattle Washington. I love going to their home cuz its a very fun American style home, and the American food is all the good old stuff from home. Also, not loads of potatoes (not that I mind potatoes but when you have more then two different kind of potatoes its get weird), but we had fun there and taught a great first lesson. We also set up some service on Friday with them. After we left and headed for our bust stop we decided to walk down to where we could find a bus shelter to get out of the rain. We had been there maybe two minutes when two ladies broke down with a flat tire. So, I walked over and ask them if they would let us fix it for them. She said yes. Come to find out, she is a new widow, and she had nobody to call to fix it and still lived a far off. She had been driving on it for a little while, but realized it was not a good idea. If we would not have walked to get out of the rain we could not have helped her. Dad, I’m so happy to know how to change a tire. Thanks so much for helping me. I have blessed a few people here in Ireland, mostly woman, who had no hope of getting home cuz they could not do it.

On Monday, I got to go on exchages with elder Johnson, the one I trained. It was so much fun. We talked for hours of memories together; caught up on our families, and things we had done apart. It was so much fun, we did not want to change back. Then we did loads of work and found a new person to teach. He is such a good missionary and it’s amazing. 5 people have been baptized because of him. He is so good. His trainee though is really hard on him and does not respect him at all. He really has no clue what Johnson does for him. At one point every day he would say, “Johnson was a bad trainer or senior companion.” I really feel so bad for him.

On a much lighter note, we have been re-teaching a lot of our less actives the lessons again, and it has been going so well. One is almost reactivated, and we are working with a new guy named Promise. He is from South Africa and he is in his mid 20's. I guess he is a legend in the youth, cuz he is a lot of fun and is a sweet dancer. So maybe he can teach me a few moves. I can already do a cool handstand thing, which is fun, and box step like thing.

Anyways, I love you all so much and I hope this was a really good email for you. I did not write to anybody else, so, it should be good. I love you lots and miss you all. Hugs and kisses to all, even that dumb dog Charlie.

Sorry, the comp went weird. So, I sent what I had, but I was saying, its better then a door in the face.

We got three new investigators this past week. They are Chinese collage co-eds and have no knowledge at all of God and Jesus. We really have to go back to the basics for them, but its good for us. They are interested and want to see us once a week. One of them, Amily, said the prayer at the end of our lesson and it was really good. It was Amily’s first time talking to God ever.

Well, I'm out of time. I love you all so much and will take about Christmas stuff next time.

Take care, hugs and kisses
Brady
