Hey Mom and Daddy, brothers, sister, and Ozzy
How are you all today? This week has been a good fun one, and I have lots of good things to say, at least I hope.
Well, I will start off and talk about Christmas stuff. In all honesty, I would rather you hold on to the money. That way when I get home I can buy a laptop or an ipod touch. If I buy them when I get home the ipod will be less expensive. That’s what happened with the other ipods before. If you would like to send me something out, I could use some new socks. Every one of mine has a hole in them. I also love sweets…you may know that already. If you are gonna send me sweets make sure they’re not chocolate. Now I get to ask who do I buy for this year? Also, mom and dad, what would you like from Ireland? Mom you said shamrock earrings, and dad I don’t think you want those.
We have a dinner appointment for Thursday. All the Americans are getting together at the church and we are going to eat there. So, we are set for Thanksgiving. I’m really happy about that. It should be good and there are going to be so many little kids screaming everywhere. All the Americans in our ward are newly married and only one does not have kids yet. It’s going to be fun.
Dude, it treats Cody right for being mean and having to go to the cop’s station (Cody got answered to a school dance and she answered by having the cops interrogate him at the police station). I have gone the police station here, and it was scary but to make it worse I was getting questioned about a real murder rather then just vandalism. So, what was Cody’s poem or whatever? How did he tie in the bucket of water or was that just extra funny stuff? I wish I could have taken part of that one or any of Cody’s date asking stuff. He used to always help me out, and it would be fun to do the same for him. I miss Cody a lot, especial all of his senior year things. Will I be home for his prom? April 16th, again, is the day.
Today is my official 19th month mark for my mission. So my assistant told me some crazy junk; I guess Elder Gardner is so trunky and ready to go home. It’s way sad. I don’t even think about that too much. I try not to, but of coarse its always in the back of my mind. This past week I had two dreams of you all picking me up at the airport, even Julie was in my dream and meeting her for the first time. That will be fun.
Well now for some stories of the week:
Last night we had a great evening. We taught Des last night and he finally told us he feels the spirit when he goes to church, and that’s why he loves church so much. He loves the members of the church too. He says its like walking into our own world, and that he is apart of it. We told him that’s good and that he really is apart of that world. We all love to see him there. It was good cuz we also had a member along to say this rather then it being just us. So it meant a lot more to him. Des is one of my highlights of the mission, even though I most likely wont see him baptized. After that, we went to a members house (called the Changs) they are from Seattle Washington. I love going to their home cuz its a very fun American style home, and the American food is all the good old stuff from home. Also, not loads of potatoes (not that I mind potatoes but when you have more then two different kind of potatoes its get weird), but we had fun there and taught a great first lesson. We also set up some service on Friday with them. After we left and headed for our bust stop we decided to walk down to where we could find a bus shelter to get out of the rain. We had been there maybe two minutes when two ladies broke down with a flat tire. So, I walked over and ask them if they would let us fix it for them. She said yes. Come to find out, she is a new widow, and she had nobody to call to fix it and still lived a far off. She had been driving on it for a little while, but realized it was not a good idea. If we would not have walked to get out of the rain we could not have helped her. Dad, I’m so happy to know how to change a tire. Thanks so much for helping me. I have blessed a few people here in Ireland, mostly woman, who had no hope of getting home cuz they could not do it.
On Monday, I got to go on exchages with elder Johnson, the one I trained. It was so much fun. We talked for hours of memories together; caught up on our families, and things we had done apart. It was so much fun, we did not want to change back. Then we did loads of work and found a new person to teach. He is such a good missionary and it’s amazing. 5 people have been baptized because of him. He is so good. His trainee though is really hard on him and does not respect him at all. He really has no clue what Johnson does for him. At one point every day he would say, “Johnson was a bad trainer or senior companion.” I really feel so bad for him.
On a much lighter note, we have been re-teaching a lot of our less actives the lessons again, and it has been going so well. One is almost reactivated, and we are working with a new guy named Promise. He is from South Africa and he is in his mid 20's. I guess he is a legend in the youth, cuz he is a lot of fun and is a sweet dancer. So maybe he can teach me a few moves. I can already do a cool handstand thing, which is fun, and box step like thing.
Anyways, I love you all so much and I hope this was a really good email for you. I did not write to anybody else, so, it should be good. I love you lots and miss you all. Hugs and kisses to all, even that dumb dog Charlie.
